A container on your land that heats your greenhouse for free and pays you 500,000 kr a month.
Snow

Free heat for your greenhouse, and rent every month.
What you get
You get 500,000 kr every month, 6 million kr a year.
The pod heats your greenhouse for free. It sends hot water at about 53 °C, day and night, all year. That is up to 210 kW of heat, about as much as 50 houses use.
That is enough to keep a 1,000 m² greenhouse at 20 °C on its own until it is colder than about 1 °C outside.1 On colder days, your own heating tops it up.
If you heat with electricity, that heat is worth about 11.8 million kr a year. If you heat with geothermal water, it is worth about 1.8 million kr.2
No greenhouse? The same pipes heat your house.
We buy the pod, set it up, insure it, run it and repair it.
You pay nothing.
How the heat gets to you
Two buried pipes join the pod to your greenhouse’s heating pipes. Your own pump moves the water around. It leaves the pod at about 53 °C and comes back at about 28 °C.
When you don’t need the heat, the pod’s fans let it go into the air. If the pod stops, your greenhouse keeps running on its own heating.
Electricity
The pod needs about 162,000 kWh of electricity every month. This is about 2 million kr. We pay for all of it. The pod has its own transformer and its own meter.
What we need from you
We need four things:
- A flat patch of ground, about 17 × 6 m, near your greenhouse.
- A three-phase power line that the power company can connect a transformer to.
- A fibre internet line.
- Your greenhouse’s heating pipes and pump, or your house’s.
Who pays for it
AI companies pay for it by renting the pod for their apps.
You always get paid first, with the same amount every month.
Fourteen days to live
Questions
”Is it loud?” Not very. The fans turn slowly, and only run fast when you aren’t using the heat.
”What if my greenhouse needs more heat?” Your own heating tops it up, just as it does today.
”Who fixes it at three in the morning?” We do.

Notes
- Up to 212 kW of heat at full load, about 180 kW on average. A 1,000 m² glass greenhouse kept at 20 °C loses about 9.6 kW for every degree colder it is outside. This is simplified: glass only, with no lamps and no wind. So 180 kW holds it down to about 1 °C outside. A 140 m² house uses about 3.2 kW on average (Byggðastofnun, 2025). https://www.byggdastofnun.is/static/files/Orkukostnadur/2025/orkukostnadur-heimila-arid-2025.pdf ↩
- About 1,580 MWh of heat a year. We assume a greenhouse can use 60% of it, or about 950 MWh. Electricity is priced at 12.47 kr/kWh (GlobalPetrolPrices, 2025). Geothermal water is priced at Veitur’s greenhouse rate of 90.65 kr/m³, which is about 1.95 kr/kWh. https://www.globalpetrolprices.com/Iceland/electricity_prices/ https://eu-assets.contentstack.com/v3/assets/blt5bf0023ca96cf071/blt712787f93cd942ad/66e354810b169c5073a46d47/Ver%C3%B0skr%C3%A1_fyrir_heitt_vatn_%C3%A1_veitusv%C3%A6%C3%B0i_Veitna.pdf ↩
